Located inside the Multi-Sports Gymnasium of the School of Physical Education and Sports of Ribeirão Preto (EEFERP/USP) in a specific room with an area of 35.43m2 and a size of 6.70 by 5.30 m, the Interactive Media and Physical Exercise Laboratory seeks to use the most modern tools of interactive electronic games (Exergames) as a strategy to encourage regular physical exercise, especially for groups resistant to conventional exercise.
The Interactive Media and Physical Exercise Laboratory also provides undergraduate and postgraduate students with contact with new technologies and encourages their use as a working tool within physical education and sport.
Developed activities:
Currently, the laboratory hosts the extension project “Physical conditioning program with interactive games for obese and/or overweight children” in partnership with the Department of Childcare and Pediatrics of the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto and the Obesity Clinic in Children and Adolescents of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Ribeirão Preto Medical School..
